Extracellular matrix (ECM) is a major component of the cell microenvironment with important signaling and regulatory functions. Derived from healthy acellular porcine vasculature, TissueSpec® heart matrix is rich in structural collagens and elastin, glycoproteins including tenascin, and proteoglycans including versican, syndican, and biglycan.

TissueSpec® Heart Hydrogels enabled enhanced differentiation of embryonic stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes and increased expression of cardiac markers without the addition of supplemental growth factors.
